In a remote area in Dar es Salaam, called Temeke, the Zainabiya Child Sponsorship Scheme (ZCSS) shines as a beacon of hope to parents and children. This heartwarming story revolves around three determined children: Ali, Fatimah, and Zahra. Born into impoverished families, the thought of education seemed an impossible dream. Parents and guardians, facing relentless financial hardship, struggled just to provide meals. Yet, these three children, with a passion for learning, have made remarkable progress in their primary education, thanks to the ZCSS sponsorship program. For these children, it not only has opened doors to success but also ignited dreams of breaking the cycle of poverty. Their journey at Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS) highlights the transformative power of education programs like ZCSS. Investing in education breaks barriers, creating a ripple effect that changes lives and communities.
I'm Dr. Nilofar Punjani and my journey began when I used to visit the graveyard with my mom and she would tell me that dadi always wanted my aunt to become a doctor but she couldn't do so because of financial issues. So, I was determined that one day I'll become a doctor and make my grandma proud. I gave my Neet UG entrance exam and got admission into this college but we too were facing financial issues. Thanks to WF Education and Husaini Education Trust who supported me financially and were very kind towards me. God bless them and everyone who is helping kids like us grow! Sadly, my mom who was suffering from brain tumour passed away, so now I am fulfilling two dreams, one of my grandma and the other of my mom. I studied hard and passed my final year ranking 3rd in my College. It was not an easy journey but by God's grace in the form of WF Education and Hussaini Education Trust, who were so supportive and helpful, that I could get through it. May Allah (swt) Almighty keep them healthy and happy, Ameen.
My father passed away when I was 15, leaving all the responsibility on my mother. I knew that the only way to improve our standard of living in the long term was through education, so I studied very hard and, Alhamdulillah, I was able to complete my graduation with the assistance from the WF Education through Husaini Education Trust and I decided to pursue further studies and become a Chartered Accountant. It was difficult and I struggled with final exams but with persistence, I was able to pass the CA final exams in November 2019. I have come a long way from where I started and whatever I am today is because of the efforts of my mother and the assistance that I received from WF Education through Husaini Education Trust. I can proudly say that my mother no longer has to work to provide for the family. I am extremely grateful to WF Education and Husaini Education Trust for their assistance that enabled me to move out of the poverty cycle and pray to Allah (swt) by the wasila of 14 Masumeen (as) to bless them and grant them prosperous health and wealth, Ameen.
